Just goes to show you should never listen to the weather forecast. From my latest trip to the lakes in February 2024, forecast torrential rain for two days, excepet for the 20 minutes it wasnt !! Derwent Water has been called 'Queen of the Lakes' because of the way it's cradled by the surrounding fells. Friars Crag and Cat Bells can be seen in the background
